Overview

Despite over one million new vehicles selling in Australasia each year, the buying experience is outdated, uncomfortable, and time-consuming. After almost a decade in the industry, Yourcar's founder, Jack Harley, was frustrated with the lack of innovation.

Edition was approached to help reimagine the process of buying a new vehicle, give transparency to buyers with a more personalised experience, and just as importantly, empower passionate car dealers to sell more vehicles.

Automating experience

Through customer interviews and roleplaying the experience, we gained invaluable insight into just how tired the current model was, and what aspects we could automate.

To our surprise, only 33% of those we spoke to said on-road costs were a major factor in their buying decision. The majority prioritised personalisation, convenience and an overall efficient experience.

Empowering car dealerships

Yourcar needed to be as low-touch and unobtrusive as possible to ensure dealership adoption at scale. Consulting directly with dealers, we reimagined clunky sales spreadsheets and embedded this into a user-friendly interface. Now, vehicle offers can be shared and negotiated with genuinely interested buyers, and test drives scheduled, all without a single face-to-face consultation.

Designing a brand to suit

Understanding the important role a brand plays in any new business, Yourcar entrusted Edition with refining and evolving the existing logo, colour palette, fonts, and supporting marketing collateral.
